It is my honor and privilege to begin serving this community as the School District of Janesville’s Superintendent. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with all of you.
Since I was appointed in April, I have made several visits to Janesville to begin acquainting myself with our schools, staff, and community members. I have held meetings with District staff, building principals and school staff, and I have participated in a variety of meetings. Much of this has been facilitated by working with retiring Superintendent, Mr. Steve Pophal. This has helped lay a strong foundation for a smooth transition, and I am very appreciative of his insight and guidance. I thank him for the good work he has done in Janesville over the past five years.
As we move toward the start of another school year, I look forward to working collaboratively with the school board, staff, parents and community to continue improving the exceptional educational experience available to the children in our schools. I’m committed to ensuring all students have the ability to reach their full potential while becoming productive members of an ever-changing global society. I truly believe the greater Janesville community and district are poised for positive growth, and I am thrilled to be able to be involved in that progress.
While we anticipate positive growth, we acknowledge there are challenges that lie ahead. There are areas where we can improve, and we continue to face lingering effects from the recent pandemic. Be assured that with the guidance of our district leadership team and our dedicated teachers and school staff, we will be working together to ensure every child is served and well-prepared for success.
The work continues, and I thank you for welcoming me to Janesville. I look forward to what lies ahead.
