School Funding
Blue Ribbon Commission
In December of 2017, a Blue Ribbon Commission was created by the Wisconsin legislature to study school financing and to recommend changes to the system. The current process of funding public schools in our state was established in the early 1990s. The commission released its recommendations for changes in January 2019. The School District of Janesville supports many of the recommendations, particularly the topics of their Papers #10, 11, 15, 18, and 25. Please visit "Recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Commission on School Funding" to learn more.
