School District of Janesville Demographic and Student Membership Report

Executive Summary

The annual School District of Janesville Demographic and Student Membership Report follows. Additional data on children identified as homeless and children living in low income homes is presented, as well as information on home schooled (homebased) students.
Student membership continues to decrease in grades K-12 from the peak experienced in the 2002-2003 school year. Based on factors such as birth trends, housing starts and population projections, it is anticipated that membership will show a steady decline over the next decade.
While district growth slows, the students in Janesville are becoming more diverse in terms of ethnicity and economics.
